PuzzleBee started with a problem every serious puzzle collector knows: you buy a puzzle, solve it, and a year later you can't remember if you own it, what you rated it, or how long it took. You do the same puzzle twice. You lose track of your wishlist. You forget which ones are still on the shelf and which are complete.
The obvious solution — a spreadsheet — sort of works, until it doesn't. It doesn't scan barcodes. It can't time your sessions across multiple sittings. It can't share your finishes with friends who also puzzle.
So we built PuzzleBee: a real app, built for the way collectors actually puzzle.
Most tracking apps are designed for one kind of collector: someone who wants a database. PuzzleBee was designed for something more — a companion for the whole puzzle experience, from the moment you pick up the box to the moment the last piece clicks in.
The timer understands that real solves happen across multiple sittings. The scanner understands that you don't want to type in a title and piece count manually. The Hive feed understands that you want to share with friends without the noise of social media.
Every feature was either requested by real collectors or built because we needed it ourselves.
PuzzleBee's puzzle database is community-built. When you scan a barcode that isn't in the database yet, you can submit it — with photos, piece count, brand, and title. Once we review and approve it, it becomes available to every PuzzleBee user.
The goal is a complete, high-quality catalog of every jigsaw puzzle ever made. We're a long way from there, but every submission gets us closer.
